Great Product, Best and Most advanced Bible Study tool in all of the app store and i dare to say in any mobile platform
I started out wanting an iPhone bible to compliment my printed bible. This would be a bible that I could read while on the train. I went through all of the free bibles and realized that I wanted more. I wanted a bible that I could study with. That led me to the standard works bible. That bible was very good. It has a great search engine. But it has no study aids. I eventually came to the conclusion that for me, I wanted a digital bible. The iPhone bible would become my primary bible. That led me eventually to the mantis bible. I have the KJV, NKJV, NET bibles and the treasury of scriptual knowledge bible commentary. The mantis 4.0 platform has fantastic navigational features, bookmark features, notes and highlights, verse comparison with the other bible versions and cross references to other verses for further study. A great bible study tool!
For over 6 months I have been praying and writing about 5 different Bible app companies to try and get the autoscrolling added. Thanks Mantis for including this feature in your upgrade! I was thrilled last night to see this great feature added. Now I can just sit and read as the words gently roll by without having to swipe every few seconds to change the page. As far as other features Mantis has the competition (whose Bible apps I have purchased as well) hands down in all these areas: stability, UI, logical layouts, available options, full screen ease of use, etc. Despite all the extra features the start up/load time is still about the same as the rest. For any one who spends extensive time reading the Bible everyday this is by far the best Bible app. Worth the extra few bucks!
This app is superb in almost every way except one. If you are in landscape mode and you want to open a note, the app crashes and you have to start over. Fix this, and it will be completely perfect. It is totally worth every penny, even with the flaw.
Still have the same typos (bad for Bibles) that were identified two years ago. Plus its time to expand the display for iPhone 5!
Some bad moments
This app is very very slow, freezes, and turns to blank page, then turns off by itself. I have 3G and all of my other apps run smoothly.
Please do your homework and clean the mess before before you do the rip off.
This is not worth the money. It makes you pay for everything. You are better off with the free version if you want just a KJV. The touchbible is a better value.
I hate it I downloaded it strait from my itouch and it wont even open. I cant get it to start at all
When I sometimes get really busy into the read, i get no text. I get out of the program then go back in, and nothing. I have reboot my iPhone 4 to get it going. Thats a pretty big distraction during a service. This has happened several times. Its not worth the money. If you have a easy fix let me know.
Worked wert well on the 1st gen but has been very buggy on the 4th gen. Content and features are great if it doesnt crash. Doesnt play well at all with Air Sharing app. Fix the bugs.
Do not waste $18 on this, Blueletterbible is 10 times better and it is free. The word of God should always be free.
